Snowflake Confusion

Amid all the hubbub of the season, the Christmas collection for the needy, posting a string of Christmas cards to family and friends, and the current writing project, I stop to admire the first snowflakes of the winter. Birthed by the north wind, the flakes angle down to mix with the golden Bradford pear leaves littering the front yard. Confidence for an accumulation depends on how much trust can be extended to the weatherman's prediction. The snow moved into our area two hours ahead of forecast so the chances for accumulation might be rising. Locally, early release on Wednesdays has brought the school children back to the neighborhood, so we all can enjoy the spectacle together -- from inside a frosting pane. Winter has its beauty, and carries permission to rest.
