Roll and Tie the End
The growing season has been sweet, well drenched and flower-filled. As I took my last grazing cage monitoring reading earlier this week, I sense the end of fair conditions and continued growth approaching. So I roll and tie up the prairie grasses in my mind, like baling meadow hay to save for another day, and I tip my hat to such amazing productivity. For as far as the eye can follow the horizon, the burnished grasses color the landscape. That's a broad-brush of lush, which keeps the field mice content and the prairie chickens hidden. What a great plan to cover the earth.
